Course Content Aimed at science, mathematics and geography teachers, covering theory and practical wind energy topics at the appropriate level, training is delivered as a hands-on, fun; four day course which includes a visit to a sponsor wind turbine site and a curriculum kit to use in teaching the material to students, which even includes a desk top turbine to be built in the classroom! It’s a great idea for transition year students.

Course Content Outline of Training Course:
RenewableUK approved Working at Height and Rescue – Wind Turbines training course delivered by ARCH covers the basic safety and competence required for personnel working at height within a wind turbine. The course applies to both on-shore and off-shore activities. On completion of training, participants will be able to climb a fixed ladder, use fall protection equipment, and understand the hazards, risks and basic rescue techniques associated with working at height in a wind turbine generator.

Entry Requirements A full licence for their vehicle category. One representative vehicle per two drivers will suffice.
Course Content A short theory session outlining the design features of the 4X4 vehicle, covering the on and off road abilities of such a vehicle. A practical session in the drivers own vehicle demonstrating how to negotiate all types of terrain, such as hill climbing, steep descent, traversing, gullies, pits and how to recover a beached vehicle.
