Learning Outcomes By the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Describe the purpose of a quality management system and explain the 8 principles of quality management.
• Explain the purpose, content and interrelationship of ISO 9000, ISO13485, ISO 9004 and ISO 19011.

Entry Requirements Level 6 on the NFQ (Higher Certificate – formerly National Certificate) qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent. Course Content This course is aimed at those currently working in management or supervisory positions in a manufacturing or service organisation.

The course teaches key skills that managers need to learn to grow and adapt to changing work environments in the modern organisation. Topics covered include strategic planning, budgeting, human resource management, quality and operational effectiveness.

Students completing the BSc in Manufacturing Management complete 2/3 of the requirements of the internationally recognised Six Sigma Green Belt award. Students receive this award in addition to their degree by sitting one extra module (Six Sigma 2) and an external Green Belt exam.

About this Programme
This degree offered via online distance learning aims to deliver a broadly based degree with lecturers from the schools of Engineering and Business and Humanities at IT Sligo. The programme is suited to a variety of industry sectors including: manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceutical, food processing and services. It is intended to prepare graduates
for positions in front-line management.

Entry Requirements Applicants will be expected to hold a Level 6 National / Higher Certificate in Business, Science, Engineering or equivalent. For those who do not have the required qualifications, a Level 6 HC in Supervisory Management and Technology is available from IT Sligo. If you have qualifications from outside Ireland or do not meet the normal eligibility requirements check our FAQ page (www.itsligo.ie/online) for further information. By combining operations and project management with quality, finance and leadership skills, the graduate is ideally equipped to take up positions as team leader or department manager in a manufacturing or service environment.
