Duration The course commences at 9.15am and finishes at 5.00pm each day for the three days.

Course Content Programme objective.
To assist established supervisors and middle managers enhance their operating skills and strategies and to enable newly appointed or less experienced people to develop their existing skills and to identify additional skills and strategies of relevance to their role.

Learning objective.
Participants will explore both the theory and practice of skills and strategies relative to the challenges and demands they face in their everyday work life and will improve their hands on application of skills in the areas people management, organisation of resources, delegation, planning, communications and problem solving.

Learning process.
This programme focuses on the practicalities of how to do things and therefore involves the interaction of participants in case study review, role playing and group activity with a strong emphasis on learning by doing. Scenarios of relevance to the challenges and demands participants encounter in their daily working lives will be employed to reinforce the learning process.

Who Should Attend?
People employed at supervisory and middle management level who achieve their goals and objectives through and with the cooperation of the people who report to them. The programme is suitable for established supervisors and middle managers who wish to enhance their skills or for people who have recently been appointed to positions of supervisory or management responsibility.

Methods of Assessment *This programme is a FETAC component (minor) award, certified at Level 6 on the national framework of qualifications (www.nfq.ie).

Full instructions, time-lines and ongoing guidance will be given by the course tutor. Most assessments are completed during the programme and results will be made available to learners as soon as they have gone through our Quality Assurance procedures and final submission to FETAC.
